Thomas Landrain

Rebooting Science. Cofounder and CEO of JOGL.
Thomas is a French scientist, activist and entrepreneur. He is one of the pioneers behind the DIYbio movement. He left his academic career in synthetic biology to develop the first biohackerspace in Europe “La Paillasse”. This experience made him realise that communities have an extraordinary capacity to solve scientific problems and create solutions. His work with JOGL, since 2019, focuses on building Giant Labs as community-based decentralised laboratories for advancing knowledge and solutions in a more inclusive and impactful manner. He is also the cofounder of PILI, a biotech company using precision fermentation to produce ecological dyes for the industry.
